Despite the weather being a tad \nunpredictable here in the UK, we have some truly beautiful roads, \ncities, views, and counties that are well worth a drive through. There \nare parts of the country we never explore, wanting to go abroad for a \nholiday instead of discovering what\u2019s on our doorstep.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Whether\n you choose to stay local, or go further afield, make sure you\u2019re \nprepared for your road trip with plenty of snacks, car games, and some \ngood music.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Below, we\u2019ve listed some of our favourite drives in the UK, and what there is to see there. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Causeway Coastal Route<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

This\n is one of the most famous drives in Northern Ireland. Start in \nLondonderry, and drive through 130 miles of beautiful coastal scenery to\n Belfast. Some areas of interest include the Glens of Antrim and the \namazing cliffs of Binevenagh.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The biggest \nhighlight of this stunning journey is the Giant\u2019s Causeway. It\u2019s a \nUNESCO World Heritage Site made up of molten lava that cooled to form \nstone steps. It\u2019s still not been discovered how these were created, but \nit\u2019s believed to be from a volcanic eruption around 60 million years \nago. It\u2019s a must see on this coastal tour. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Cat and Fiddle Route<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Based\n in our neighbouring county of Cheshire, the Cat and Fiddle route is \nnamed after the pub that you\u2019ll find along the road. It\u2019s only a \n12-mile, 25-minute drive, but is a route famous for its popularity with \nmotorcyclists due to its challenging bends. It\u2019s a well known road set \nin the heart of the Peak District, and is worth driving down for the \nviews at Goyt\u2019s Moss. The journey starts in Buxton and finishes in \nMacclesfield, so make a day of it by stopping for a pub lunch midway. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Crianlarich to Oban<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Based\n in the beautiful hills of Scotland, this 40-mile route will show you \nsome of the best scenery Scotland has to offer. It\u2019s got a combination \nof long straights and tight bends that makes it an exhilarating drive.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The\n journey starts in Crianlarich, which is a small scenic village around \n10 miles from Loch Lomond. The last section of the drive takes you along\n Scotland\u2019s west coast to Oban, which is known as the seafood capital of\n Scotland, so make sure you get some traditional fish and chips whilst \nyou\u2019re there!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A highlight of this journey includes Loch Awe, as well as plenty of natural waterfalls. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
