No autumn activity quite beats searching across the UK for conkers, whether looking for the largest, the most beautiful or the one with the best chance of winning an old-fashioned conker-battle.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Conkers are now ripening, falling from the trees and are ready to be discovered in nature spots.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cCollectors should be cautious of the spikey green casing around the seed and only collect conkers which have fallen to the ground. The green casing splitting apart is a sign the conker has ripened.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Danbury Country Park, Essex<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

This Chelmsford based woodland is a treasure trove for those looking to grab a large haul of conkers this autumn, with huge chestnut trees towering above a landscape of golden leaves. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Hamilton Gault Park, Somerset<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

As well as offering skate parks, football pitches and play areas, this South Western woodland is known for its wealth of horse chestnut trees. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Dunham Massey, Cheshire<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

This Cheshire spot stretches 200 acres of ancient woodland ready to be explored. Among the beautiful woodland live lots of fallow deer and a treasure trove for conkers. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Victoria Gardens, Kent<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

These gardens offer visitors picturesque views of Chatham town as well as plenty of conkers to collect.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
