An increasing number of drivers around the world have fitted dash cams to their vehicles, to help them stay safe and bring down insurance premiums.
But this means there are also now few hiding places for bad drivers, with other shocking incidents on the roads often captured for social media to see too.
The LeaseCar.uk team have searched the depths of Twitter to find nine crazy bits of dash cam footage from across the globe over recent weeks, that really need to be seen to be believed.
- First responders fall victim
These American firefighters responding to an incident in damp conditions miraculously managed to walk away unscathed, without any nasty breaks or major injuries, when a rubber-necker lost control of their trailer.
- Where not to overtake
This driver in Adelaide, Australia, seems to realise overtaking on a blind corner was a bad idea, but it’s too late for them to safely re-join the flow of traffic.
- A close call in the UK
An exhibition in bad driving from western England here, as this overtaking driver shows little special or speed awareness. Hopefully there wasn’t a horse inside the trailer.
- Trooper saves driver from train
This heart-stopping dash cam footage shows a hero cop in the USA saving an unconscious driver’s life, just as a train is fast approaching.
- A reminder to consider weather conditions
It’s always best to play it safe and slow down when driving in the rain, as this Chinese driver’s near miss shows. The car coming the other way seems to think they’re driving in a video game and there won’t be consequences.
- Time to reverse – nothing to see here…
Definitely not what you’d expect to see when driving towards this South Korean bridge. Most drivers would probably have backed up too.
- Tyre change nearly turns to disaster
This American police vehicle’s flashing lights should have been a clue to passing motorists, to steer clear of the incident the officer is attending to and reduce their speed too. Apparently, it wasn’t.
- What happened next?
A Russian motorist was in for quite the surprise waiting at a set of traffic lights. There appears to be little damage to his or her car – we hope the horse was unharmed too.
- Russian road surprise II
Most British drivers have experienced their fair share of weather problems on the UKs roads, but few will have encountered anything like motorists in this clip from Russia.
