The Great Movie Car Race

By LeaseCar , 24 Jun 2019

Since the first motion-picture film was released back in 1888, the film industry has released a never ending amount of blockbuster movies. They have generated billions of pounds for production companies across the globe. Over the past decade or so, going to the cinema is more than just about watching a film; it’s an experience. With cinema companies now kitting out their viewing rooms with a range of high quality screens and the best surround sound available; watching a newly released movie offers an experience like never before.

Over the years film fans have been able to enjoy movies produced by some of the world’s best production companies. From Paramount to DreamWorks and Universal to Fox Star, they have provided us with films that have brought history to life, made us cry with laughter and left us sat on the edges of our seats in anticipation. There’s no doubt about it that films have had a major impact on our lives and left us wanting more.

The film industry has taken massive strides over the past decade or so, with Disney leading the way in re-creating older films which are loved by all generations. Although we now have the ability to watch films on streaming platforms such as Netflix and production companies using the best technology available to enhance their films; many movie fans prefer the classics from yester years. Many of the most famous films created are known for their lead characters. Whether it’s Batman, James Bond or Starksy & Hutch, there are an endless number of famous characters who we adore and admire. The majority of film characters leave an imprint on our lives due to their superpowers, ability to tackle villains and because of their humorous nature, but quite often we remember them for another reason; the vehicle they drive.

There are a large number of film characters who are associated to a famous vehicle and in some instances; the vehicle is more popular than the character. The industry has provided us with some of the world’s most famous movie cars. From James Bond’s classic Aston Martin to the ever popular DeLorean used in Back to the Future; they’re all vehicles we know so well. Some of the world’s most expensive cars have featured in a number of the most loved films and for some of us, it may have crossed our minds what price tag the vehicles carry. There is another question which many film fans may have on their minds; this being who would come out on top if there was a great movie race?

To help bring this question to life, we have taken ten of the most famous vehicles within film and created the ultimate race, based on their top speeds. It’s a race which I’m sure many of us are eager to watch, but the big question is; who wins?

We’d love to hear your predictions on who will make the podium and who will be crowned winner of this spectacular race. Share your thoughts on social using #MovieCarRace and whether or not you believe the winner was deserved.
