Who meets my van leasing needs

At LeaseCar, we offer a huge range of possibilities for your leasing needs.

However, despite our best intentions sometimes that range options can feel a little overwhelming. To make things simpler, we've put together this simple guide to a few of the vans that might be of interest, depending on your needs.

You might be looking for size or power, or space or height, or perhaps engine efficiency or just one van that serves all of these needs. The five options below are by no means the only strong vans available on our site, but well worth your consideration when choosing your leasing options.

Ford Transit

This is probably one of the best known and well-respected models of its type, and there is an obvious reason for that. Not only is it instantly recognisable, it's also durable and won't break the bank, considering the versatility and variation in size of the vehicle.

There's also another reason why it regularly tops the sales charts the level of customisation that's available for storing items. A transit custom, for example, features not only a voice controlled entertainment and connectivity system; headlights that turn on automatically and an integrated roof-rack that can carry up to 130kg (kombi), but also enough space to hold three Euro pallets allied to doors that can be locked open at 90 degrees, even in windy conditions.

There are more than 400 different combinations of seating and loadspace for both people and goods in the Transit Custom Kombi so if you're moving employees, furniture, tools or anything else, the van should be capable of coping.

New models also come equipped with the new Ford EcoBlue TDCi engines, a 2.0 litre diesel engine boasting reduced CO2 and NOX emissions and power outputs ranging from 100PS to 240PS.

Ford Ranger Pickup

A big brother of the Ford family, and a looker as well. This really is a vehicle for tackling those jobs in the tougher environments, such as rural, farming or forest locations. The Ford website claims that it can 'carry up to 1,240 Kg, tow up to 3,500 kg and wade through water up to 800 mm deep'.

The triple settings of 4x2 and 4x4 (High range/low range) should be more than enough to cope with any terrain, while the lane keeping system should keep you safe on the motorways. There's also a driver alert function that monitors your behaviour to look for signs of tired driving, and warns you to take a break. It's a practical vehicle as well the two seats in the front mean more space in the back in the form of a 2.3-metre long load bed.

Citroen Dispatch

One of our most popular models, and it's no surprise. Auto Express gave it rave reviews, commenting on its excellent running costs and reliability and noting that, 'the latest Dispatch uses the same PSA platform as the Peugeot 308 and Citroen C4 Picasso, and as a result, this is a van that's more like a car to drive than many rivals, while the single roof height on offer means all versions should be able to fit in a standard multi-storey car park.'

While it isn't the biggest van you'll ever see, there are three sizes  X, M and XL which should cater for most needs. There's an additional option of electronically sliding side doors, if you need it and electronics is one area where this model really excels, with a seven-inch touchscreen, Apple CarPlay/Android Auto, and an optional head-up display.

Renault Trafic

New and improved for 2016, the look of this bright, breezy and fun-looking vehicle is described by manufacturers as: 'the slender, expressive headlights, enlarged vertical logo, and protective wraparound front bumper give the front end a strong, determined look.'

The look is available in several variants including panel van, crew van and passenger (nine seat minibus), as well as three very different trim levels: Business (DAB radio, heated door mirrors, Electronic Stability Control), Business+ (air conditioning and pollen filter, body-coloured front bumper, mobile office) and Sport (touch screen multimedia, metallic paint, cruise control).

The various options allow two lengths and two heights, an optional overhead rack, and 20 anchor points. Even the smallest model can hold three Euro pallets. As might be expected, there are also a range of engine choices that confer different advantages, based somewhat on the marque's F1 expertise. Fleet owners might be happy that the engine can produce efficiency figures of up to 50.4mpg in the passenger mode, courtesy of the new Euro 6 engines.

Again, this is a van that has gained impressive reviews; Honest John reports that the van has a near-50% pass rate in MOT tests, AutoExpress gave it an overall rating of 4.4 out of five, and RAC gave it 90% for both value and styling.

Vauxhall Vivaro

Another popular choice, not least because of the combined fuel consumption of 47.0mpg and 155g/km CO2, thanks to the BiTurbo Start/stop EcoFlex engine as well as the fact that it's built in the UK, in Luton.

The Eco Mode button reduces torque and power, using a simple traffic light system and a rating out of 100, based on driving style to map out how efficiently a driver is travelling at any given time – simple to understand even on a stressful day, and potentially a big money saver across a fleet of vehicles over extended time.

There are two height and length variations across the various specifications of doublecab, combi and platform van. Even the smallest version of the van can carry wide loads such as 8x4 plywood sheets, and fans of the model who are keen to upgrade will be glad to know that many of the add-ons that may have been accumulated over the years can easily be shifted across the new models. In an L2H2 a driver will profit from up to 8.6m cubed space, and the load area is well-executed and logical.
