Why do I need to maintain my leased car?

When you lease a car, you are responsible for looking after your vehicle and returning it in a condition equal to its age and mileage at the end of your contract. Consider the maintenance of a lease car like you would a rented property.

When you return the car, it will be inspected for signs of damage. We follow guidelines from the BVRLA about fair wear and tear, but maintaining your vehicle can help you avoid any additional charges at the end of your lease contract.

Maintenance packages

Maintenance is a popular package that is added to lease plans, for a fixed monthly cost.

Packages vary, but they generally cover you for things like scheduled servicing, repairs and replacements for any mechanical or electrical parts, MOT tests, and tyre replacements.

Maintenance packages offer:

A simple, efficient one-call booking and management service

Work conducted by a qualified technician and an accredited garage

Ability to recover full VAT on the maintenance element of your contract

Protection against inflation and rising costs of servicing and vehicle maintenance
