Although the Volkswagen Amarok is only available as a double cab here in the UK, but it's still ranked in the top three trucks you can find on the market. In fact, it has won a number of awards thanks to it's efficient engines, high levels of practicality, and an overall high quality feel.
Each model uses a 2.0 litre diesel which all perform well when it comes to fuel consumption and power, while you can also choose from 138 bhp turbo and 178 bhp twin turbo. An impressive feature is the choice of drive options, whether you want it to be permanent four-wheel-drive or selective, it's your choice.
When it comes to the load bed, the Amarok provides one of the largest spaces you can find in double cab vans. 2.5 square metres is enough for the majority of items, and the body is especially wide, with it being 1.22 metres from between the rear wheel arches.
No matter which model you go for, Electronic Stability Programme comes as standard, and there's even a trailer stabilisation system you can take advantage of. Towing is incredibly easy, with ABS and anti skid features helping to stabilise whatever you're transporting.
The Volkswagen Amarok is a fantastic vehicle to drive, both within the city and off-road. It has a six-speed transmission and is also available as an 8-speed automatic. Altogether, this is a comfortable and durable van which can withstand a punch.
One of the most stand-out features of the Amarok is its sleek interiors. You might be surprised to hear that the Amarok has arms rests, cup holders, and a large central glove compartment. The seats are also very comfortable, making the vehicle ideal for long journeys on the road (unlike other vans).
There are three variants of the Amarok, each increasing in its quality and performance as the list goes on.
The Startline: this model has 16-inch alloy wheels, 4MOTIOn technology, electric windows, air conditioning, and CD/Radio player.
